Antonio Lai è un mixologist internazionale pluripremiato, che ha portato a Hong Kong il concetto di una miscelazione multisensoriale che coinvolge tutti e cinque i sensi. Nel 2012 Lai ha aperto il suo primo cocktail bar, Quinary (www.quinary.hk), premiato per ben cinque anni consecutive dalla World’s 50 Best Bars. L’anno successive apre Origin (www.originbar.hk), il primo bar di Hong Kong specializzato in gin; nel 2014 è la volta di Envoy (www.theenvoy.hk) dedicato ai cocktail a base tè. Seguono VEA Lounge (www.vea.hk/lounge) e Room 309 (www.room309.hk) e, lo scorso ano, Draft Land HK ( www.draftland.tw/hk) in collaborazione con il collega Taiwanese Angus Zou e dove si servono i “cocktail alla spina”.

Nel 2015, Lai vince la Diageo World Class di Hong Kong& Macau, a completamento di una carriera di vent’anni di esperienza nei più rinomati club, bar e ristoranti internazionali. Oggi non si dedica solo al suo Tastings Group, ma lo si può incontrare in giro per il mondo a tenere masterclass e seminari.

Antonio is a multi-awarded international mixologist who pioneered the comprehensive Multisensory Mixology (MM) concept in Hong Kong – a drinking experience that engages all five senses. In 2012, Antonio started his own bar business in Hong Kong with the opening of Quinary (2012, www.quinary.hk) the group’s award-winning flagship and first multisensory cocktail bar, Origin (2013, www.originbar.hk) the first in the city that specializes in gin, The Envoy (2014, www.theenvoy.hk) that prides itself of its breezy terrace as well as tea-focused cocktails, VEA Lounge (2015, www.vea.hk/lounge) a “fine drinking” gentlemen’s lounge, ROOM 309 (2018, www.room309.hk) the “invisible hotel room” concept and its “invisible cocktails”, and the latest Draft Land HK (2019, www.draftland.tw/hk) in partnership with Taiwanese drink maestro, Angus Zou, that serves Cocktails On Tap.

With Quinary achieving the World’s 50 Best Bars from Drinks International Magazine for five consecutive years, Antonio has been pushing limits of Hong Kong bartending scene to another level. His latest award includes being named as the 2015 Diageo World Class Hong Kong & Macau Champion.

Antonio has 20 years of experience having to work at renowned bars, clubs, restaurants and cafes in the industry domestically and internationally. You will find him conducting industry seminars and being a guest mixologist around the world… if not zipping up and down the streets of Hong Kong to the six venues of Tastings Group in his signature outrageous sneakers.
